Students will experience excursions around Tokyo to the Olympic training center, the Olympic stadiums and venues, and the National Institute of Health and Nutrition. This interdisciplinary course introduces students to emergent research on Latinx students in K12 and higher education in the US, and through a transnational lens. We explore these issues in relation to Mexico, and the Americas writ broadly. Students will explore principles of bilingualism, language varieties, social conventions, and culturally relevant materials.
